I can’t smoke these days but loves me an edible. Went to a dispensary with an airline theme yesterday. It looked to be a major distraction hubspot. Good theme but I’d prefer the big counter where there are multiple people to help you rather than ordering from a guy with a tablet and then a long line to pick it up like a prescription. But got a good deal so that was a plus.

I hate the guy with the tablet version of shopping also. I get it delivered so online shopping is the best!

We’re too cheap to pay for delivery especially since the store is only like 3 miles away. Our taxes in this county are ridiculous on cannabis. My $50 order had $17 added on for taxes. But I hear ya. Most other places just have a counter you walk up to and choose from the plethora of delights. Not usually a long line.

I buy it medically, so no taxes or delivery charge. Plus a 10% discount.

The taxes are insane! It is why NYC has so many illegal shops, plus their licensing for recreational is moving at a snail's pace. I plan on eventually growing my own.

We have a plant growing as well. I have friend back east who came to visit and wondered if she could sneak it in her bag. I was like for why?! We have all the stuff you need! She was thrilled with the dispensary.

What are you eating for lunch?

I am going to have something veggie, microwaved from the fridge. :)

There are few differences between Indica and sativa. Basically, the guy studying it back in the victorian times saw the stuff from India was like “that doesn’t look like the shit from Mexico, I’m gonna call it Cannabis Indica.”

In the same way that you’ll find characteristics varying in grapes when they are grown in northern versus southern hemisphere regions, you’ll find traits that distinguish them, but it’s marginal at best.

Also THC % tells you more about how quickly you’ll feel the effect, but not how strong the effect will be. Terpene content will tell you better about potency and effect. We’re still figuring out what terpenes do what, but so far as I know, there’s info out there.

This is why rescheduling cannabis was important. We’re going to get so much more research now that university labs and other private laboratories are allowed to explore different varieties and what their benefits are. Happy Smoke of July, or fourth of Ju-High. (I am a Jew-high) America is awesome because of us! 🇺🇸 🎆

There are great resources now available for terpenes and their effects. There are some really informative "Terpene Wheels" of varying complexity on the net. And for sure, terps make a huge difference in effects.

Some effects are (or are being) well-studied 🌐https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7324885/ and some others are mostly anecdotal in their benefits, and again you are absolutely correct; the "entourage effect," as it's known, is far more important than just THC content. Terpenes, flavonoids, phytochemicals and cannabinoids all contribute to what gets you high, whether you're sleepy or energized, the medical benefits, and so on.

I can smoke some stereotypical "sativa-leaning" strains all day (I love berry and lime/orange terps, as well as anything Haze), but other ones will wind me up into a panic attack (lemon terps and Thai cultivars come to mind).

However, I'm a medical patient, so I need pain and PTSD relief. I need to slow down my brain because activating it sends it scattering out of control. I often go for those weird and funky terps, especially with the stuff I grow for my medical use. For example, I love the stuff that smells like fresh cracked pepper, a forest floor, burnt rubber, or my 81 yo dad after he's bicycled 25 miles. 😅

The most important part of selecting weed is to smell it, as far as I'm concerned. Your brain will tell you what will be effective by your non-visual senses. If it smells really good to you, then you're going to enjoy it and get something from it. I have a delicious Mango OG (KC 33 x Afghani) strain right now that smells fkn GLORIOUS to me in the afternoon when I want to relax, but in the AM when I'm trying to get going, it smells kinda flat. It can be a subtle shift, but if you sniff enough jars you start to pick up on the nuances of effects around aroma and flavor.

Okay, I'll stop writing an article on your article, Zigs. I can talk about the botany, chemistry, and biology of cannabis all day... 😅💚

You are fine. I do not know about that stuff. I know about taking good pictures and relating with people. I talk about what I feel, my whole thinking behind this blog was the fact that I am not an expert and wouldn't be talking like one, I want it to be fun and personal. You can get an Altimeter Reading from me! I appreciate the details people like you and Lana can provide., I have used recipes from another friend and I would love to use something from you in the future. Keep it simple, something like what would you recommend for a beginner to have in order to start growing a small amount for personal use. With money saving tips! I would love to add something like that to my blog.

I’d be happy to help. If I could have my druthers, I’d be teaching folks to grow small amounts for personal use every day of the week. And thanks Rev! Great info from a fellow tree keeper.💚🍀
