All Potted Up On The Weed: EPISODE 7

Happy Jaws Day, July 4th!
Over on Wonkette we’re having a matinee showing of Jaws at 4pm ET (movie start time, post goes up 3pm ET.) So I’m doing a special edition of All Potted Up and have rolled up a Jaw’s Joint and started my celebration on July 3rd.
The buds getting chomped on are a sativa with the fun name of Stoopid Fruits with 20.59% THC. I have slowly been building up a sativa tolerance as it can up my anxiety but I like its energy and creativity. So I figured I’d try half a joint of this to give you the full scoop on how it feels. This one is a time machine. As in it moved me forward by an hour and I didn’t realize it! But I did get some nice weed pics. It is nice tasting, with a sweetness reminiscent of Froot Loops. It also has the fragrance of fresh cut grass and peaches.
I did feel the anxiety start to tick up like the feeling you get when you hear the first dun…dun in Jaws. So I grabbed a beer and a sativa dominant hybrid, Original Mandarin Cookies to stop the nerves before they could ruin my fun. But I wasn’t ready to go into full Indica chillout mode. This is a time when I find it to be really beneficial to understand how certain strains affect me. The Original Mandarin Cookies strain has large, bright green buds and a hint of a mandarin peel scent.
I packed it into a one hitter as I lacked the patience to twist up some of this strain. This is a smooth one as a nice big hit did not send me into a coughing fit. Even with its sativa dominance this strain is advertised to cause blissfulness, be uplifting and help with stress relief. It lives up to expectations. My rising anxiety was hushed and a nice middle ground settled in. I like this one.

We are celebrating Independence Day with our new tradition of a matinee of Jaws. Movie post goes up at 3pm ET, movie starts at 4pm ET. All are welcome! Just go to Wonkette at 3pm ET (movie starts at 4pm ET) for pre-movie socializing. Find the movie on your own preferred device, I list the streaming options available, I try to find free versions but sometimes it may need to be rented. I give a 15 minute countdown in the comments so we can all start watching at the same time. Then throughout the movie there’s trivia and it is expected that you WILL talk during the movie! It’s a great way to watch a movie with friends who, although located far apart, can share a good time.
There are few differences between Indica and sativa. Basically, the guy studying it back in the victorian times saw the stuff from India was like “that doesn’t look like the shit from Mexico, I’m gonna call it Cannabis Indica.”
In the same way that you’ll find characteristics varying in grapes when they are grown in northern versus southern hemisphere regions, you’ll find traits that distinguish them, but it’s marginal at best.
Also THC % tells you more about how quickly you’ll feel the effect, but not how strong the effect will be. Terpene content will tell you better about potency and effect. We’re still figuring out what terpenes do what, but so far as I know, there’s info out there.
This is why rescheduling cannabis was important. We’re going to get so much more research now that university labs and other private laboratories are allowed to explore different varieties and what their benefits are.
