That is a great movie. The Dictator's dance with a beach ball painted like planet Earth is a truly inspired dance number. When compared with Mike Myers's Dr. Evil wrestling with other dictator wannabes for the ball-painted-as-Earth on the talk show Jerry Springer parody, it just goes to show how far we've fallen and so has our acting-talent. Nobody films sequences like that anymore. They couldn't if they tried.
And then we come to Chaplin finally talking on screen. It's a really good little speech calling for a more liberal and kind hearted world where everybody is respectful and respected by everyone else, and those in need are helped, and everyone gives back according to their abilities and talents.
It would be a far better world if we all went along with him.
Axel is very well hidden here.
