I have lived in NYC since 1984. I am now leaving the Big Apple and headed to a place that most certainly rocks, Cleveland. I have just 16 days before the move and I am assuming I won’t be coming back. So I wanted to do something I have had on my list for a very long time, go to Luna Park in Coney Island and ride the Cyclone. I made that dream come true today.
It was the first thing I did, bought that ten dollar ticket and got on line.

This was the first weekday it was open for the summer season and there were lots of tourists there. As I got to the part where they put you in your seat, the guy said just climb over the bar, it’s fine. I looked at him and said I’m 62 that ain’t so easy. But I got myself in the seat. No seatbelt, just a raggedy ass looking lap bar held together with some duct tape. I jammed my feet under the seat in front of me and held on. It is a really jarring and bumpy ride, specially when you don’t have anyone sitting next to you, I slid from one side to the other, coming up out of my seat a little too much. And I have rode tons of coasters. Honestly it didn’t feel very safe but I did have a screaming good time.

Next thing on the list was food. Nathan’s of course. I got a chili cheese dog, fries and a vanilla shake. I was watching a seagull battle a pigeon when a little bird stole one of my fries. Then the seagull had the nerve to laugh at me!

I wandered around snapping pics on the boardwalk.

Then I drove a little car that went pretty fast and came in third place! I stopped for fudge before heading home.
It was a wonderful day. I hope you enjoyed coming along if only through pictures.
The seagull knew that was a very sketchy pigeon!
Great pics! Thanks for taking me along on your outing. But that hot dog...gawd made my mouth water.
