I often think that the name of a strain will influence how you perceive its scent and flavor. If it’s called Garlic Budder, that is what I expect to smell when I open the bag. Sometimes it is just a hint, enough so that I can say yeah that smells fruity. Then occasionally one hits the mark pretty good. Garlic Budder is one of those. Taking a deep sniff I get garlic and butter separately. Terpenes influence these sensory joys of weed and looking up info on a strain now gives you its terpene profile which can give you an idea of the taste and scent.

All Potted Up On The Weed: EPISODE 6

Today I picked three strains, Super Lemon Haze Cookies (sativa); Black Cherry Gelato (hybrid) and Ice (Indica.) Seen in the above pic, L to R. I like to mix up what I call cocktail joints. Sativa can make me anxious but I like the creative buzz it gives, so I temper it with an Indica. Sometimes this works well. I combined Critical Kali Kush sativa with Pink Kush Indica and they both hit at the same time and worked well together. Providing a nice balance, I find it to be a little more fun than just a pure hybrid which has just one flavor/smell profile.

EPISODE 5 Velvet Breath is an Indica that’s as smooth as its name. The taste has a touch of sweetness that I really like in my flower with a little earthiness. This is a good chill out weed that won’t leave you in couch lock. Need to be somewhat productive but still want some relaxation then this is the strain for you.

EPISODE 4 This week in honor of Barbie being the star of Wonkette Movie Night we are going PINK. Pink Kush is a strain that is good for pain relief, helping me after dental surgery. It also can assist with sleep. As for waking and baking, I recommend that for experienced tokers only, it’s great if you don’t have too much to do that day besides enjoy it. With strains like this I will mix in a hybrid or sativa to give it a little energy.

All Potted Up On The Weed EPISODE 3

EPISODE 3 Lilac Diesel is a balanced hybrid with the THC at 19.92%. This weed has a wonderful scent with a mix of lemon and lilacs, it is one of the better smelling strains I have come across. It is a nice pale green with a scattering of dark orange hairs. It has a fine dusting of white. Breaking up a large bud to put in the grinder and I am left with sticky fingers, but the bud still grinds up easily.

EPISODE 2 May the fourth be with you! Today we blast off with Tropicana Cherry, a sativa dominant hybrid. The lavender colored buds surprised me when I opened the package. At first appearing black but when seen under bright light the pretty pop of purple could shine through, and I love me some purple! Not strong smelling but hints of a floral cleaner.
